WHAT ARE COOKIES?

In this document, we use the term cookies to mean the type of data commonly referred to as cookies as well as other, similar technologies (such as pixel tags, web beacons, or device identifiers) that can automatically collect information when you visit a website.
Cookies are small files in your internet browser or mobile application that are used to store and receive identifiers and other information about computers, phones and other devices from which you access the website, and thus help us provide, protect and improve the services we offer.

THE PURPOSE OF COOKIES

The use of cookies allows us to offer you the kind of content and information which best suits your needs and interests. Cookies allow us to record information about your visit to our website, and thanks to their use, your next visit will be easier and faster.
Cookies are used, in particular, for the following purposes:

  • web features enhancing user comfort;
  • anonymized evaluation of user movement across the website.

TYPES OF COOKIES

One may differentiate between various cookies based on a number of criteria. Depending on who creates and processes cookies, cookies can be divided into two categories:

  • First-party cookies are created directly by web pages or scripts on the same domain. They are most often used to ensure the basic functionality of the website.
  • Third-party cookies are created by other websites. These sites own some content on the website you visit, such as ads, images, or videos.

Cookies can also be divided according to their shelf life into:

  • Session cookies, which are temporary. They are stored on your device only until you quit browsing and are deleted after closing your internet browser. These cookies are indispensable for the proper functioning of the website or associated applications.
  • Persistent cookies, which we may use to make it easier and more convenient for you to find your way around our website (for example, easier and faster navigation). These cookies remain in your browser for a longer period of time or until you delete them manually. The length of this period depends on your browser settings. Permanent cookies allow information to be transferred to the internet server each time you visit the website.

According to the purpose of use, cookies can be divided into:

  • Essential cookies, which are needed to operate the website. These cookies do not collect user information that could be used for marketing purposes or for remembering which sites users have visited on the internet.
  • Performance cookies, which we use to improve the functioning of the website. These cookies collect information about how visitors use this website, such as which pages visitors visit most often and whether they receive error messages from the website. They also allow us to record and count the number of visitors to the website, which in turn lets us track how visitors use the website. These cookies do not collect information that would allow the personal identification of the user. The information collected through these cookies is aggregated and anonymous.
  • Functional cookies make it easier to control and improve features of the website. They are used to activate specific website functions (e.g. video playback) and to configure them in accordance with your preferences (e.g. language choices), in order to enhance your website experience. At the same time, functional cookies are used to remember your preferences the next time you visit the website. However, they do not collect information that could identify you.
  • Advertising and targeting cookies (profiling cookies) are used to track preferences which you reveal as you use the website and to send advertising messages in accordance with those preferences. This type of cookies is not currently used by this website.
